This year has been interesting for everyone involved. From a fast-spreading pandemic to a global movement for racial justice, people throughout the globe have experienced their fair share of world-altering events. With the introduction of the novel COVID-19 pandemic, all of our lives were changed when millions of us were ordered to stay home and had to transition to working and studying from home.

Since we started our operations, Spring Power & Gas has focused on providing innovative electricity and natural gas to consumers in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve placed significant priority on our customers’ livelihoods and have worked to enhance and facilitate the “new normal.” We were honored and fortunate enough to be able to continue contributing to environmental organizations through our Ecogold Environmental Fund

Keep reading below for a look back on some of our most memorable moments of this year.

Teaming up With Cinch Home Services

Most people are spending more time at home during this pandemic, so ensuring that our homes are comfortable and optimized for energy efficiency is a top priority. We were extremely excited to partner with Cinch Home Services in 2020 to start offering ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) protection to eligible new customers. The HVAC protection is now included in the Spring Guard electric and gas product to provide homeowners the benefit of knowing that their heating/cooling systems and appliances are covered should any unanticipated issues arise. As a brand new offering, Spring Guard is a demonstration of our commitment to increasing value and enhancing customer experience. Visit our website to learn more about this new product.

Contributing to Bethesda Green’s Environmental Leaders Program

We were really pleased to extend our partnership with Bethesda Green this year through a contribution to their Environmental Leaders Program, which is offered to students throughout various schools in Montgomery County. Bethesda Green’s Environmental Leaders Program focuses on environmental stewardship via impactful projects and community engagement with schools and neighborhoods, encouraging cooperative project development and delivery. Check out our press release to learn more about Bethesda Green and the Environmental Leaders Program.

Providing Support to EarthSpark International

Spring Power & Gas has had an ongoing relationship with EarthSpark International for several years. EarthSpark is a non-profit organization building businesses that enable people to access electricity for the first time. EarthSpark launched a first of its kind, privately operated, microgrid in Les Anglais, a small town that previously didn’t have grid electricity in 2012. By 2015, they expanded the grid to 430 connections, directly serving over 2,000 people with 24-hour electricity, most of which is powered by solar energy and battery storage.

This important organization seeks to build high-quality electricity to an additional 22 towns in Haiti by the end of 2023. Spring Power & Gas’ recent contribution will help them get closer to their goal.

If you have plans for a project that is in direct alignment with environmentally sustainable initiatives, feel free to contact us. Also, by joining Spring Power & Gas as a customer, an automatic contribution is made to the Ecogold Environmental Fund, so if you haven’t yet, be sure to sign up for Spring Power & Gas today.
